Bird Key Homes – What to Expect

Historically, this island was part of circus magnate John Ringling's island development plans along with St. Armands, Lido and Longboat Keys. Ringling had a vision of creating a unique destination and his dream has become fully realized in the nightlife, shopping and quality real estate of Bird Key.

Most of the 500+ Bird Key homes are on canals or the open water of Sarasota Bay. Many have been extensively remodeled or replaced by more luxurious residences. Needless to say, boaters (both sail and power) are drawn to Bird Key's protected deepwater. The island is also home to the Bird Key Yacht Club, with its boating, fishing, pool, tennis, fine dining and social activities.
