Anna Maria Island Homes – What to Expect

Eight miles long, Anna Maria Island with the townships of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach is the southern gateway to Tampa Bay and lies just North of Longboat Key.  The northernmost town, Anna Maria has mostly residential development while Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach are the more commercial, typical 'beach' areas.

Beaches, fishing and boating are mainstays on Anna Maria Island with plenty of marinas, boat rentals, and canal residences. The island has three fishing piers – the Rod and Reel Pier, the Anna Maria City Pier, and the Historic Bridge Street Pier (the original 1921 bridge to the mainland) with its charming shops and eateries in Bradenton Beach. Just across the Intercoastal is the historic fishing village of Cortez, where commercial fishermen still live and work.
